V5.1 is an updated version of the V5, and it comes with some improvements and refinements as well as all the features of the V5
Here’s a breakdown of the key differences:
Firmware Improvement -The V5.1 comes with a more refined firmware resulting in smoother control, better stability, and improved response, especially at higher throttle ranges. Hobbywing has continued to fine-tune the software in the V5.1 to improve performance during flight.
Enhanced Voltage Range - The V5.1 features a slightly extended voltage range, which allows it to support a wider variety of battery setups. This improvement is particularly useful for those using higher-voltage power systems.
Improved Motor Support - The V5.1 has improved motor compatibility, providing better support for high-performance, high-pole-count motors and smoother operation under various load conditions.
Faster Processor & Enhanced Performance - The V5.1 comes with a slightly faster microprocessor, which results in more precise control over the ESC's operation. This leads to quicker response times and greater efficiency, especially during high-demand situations.
Improved Safety Features - The V5.1 introduces additional safety features like improved voltage monitoring, over-temperature protection, and optimized fail-safe behavior, reducing the risk of damage or failure.
Better Compatibility with External Devices - The V5.1 ESC has better compatibility with external telemetry systems and other accessories, making it easier to monitor and tune the system in real time.
User Interface and Software Updates - The V5.1 features a more user-friendly interface for configuration, with improvements to the PC software and
ALSO PACKED WITH FEATURES
- Double-sided cooling Structure
The double-sided structure of the circuit board has been re-designed to improve heat dissipation. The “open” design has allowed for better internal airflow circulation, resulting in a better cooling effect. Using thermal conductive tape and an additional heat-sink would prolong the life and improves heat dissipation on the external capacitors. The thermal scale duct design has enhanced the cooling effect for the ESC to work cooler and more stable in the most extreme of conditions.
- VBar Telemetry Ready
The Platinum V5 is equipped with Mikado VBar Control and is able to monitor data of their electronics by its Fully Telemetry functions.
- Smaller size & stronger flow resistance
The breakthrough new re-designed circuitry has a more robust thermal structure in order for the Platinum V5 to achieve a stronger flow resistance. The smaller footprint design further improves assembly process, resulting in the ESC from touching the canopy.
- Superior fixed speed capabilities
The 32-bit processor combines with advanced algorithms from
the Hobbywing engineers are key to maximizing the full potential of the ESC. The fixed speed sensitivity is now fully adjustable. This allows users to quickly find the suitable settings to suit their flying style, performing advanced aerobatic maneuvers and 3D flying at ease with precision.
- Synchronous rectifier technology with multiple advantages (DEO TECHNOLOGY)
The ESC features optimized synchronous rectifier drives up
efficiency (DEO-Driving Efficiency Optimization, or Active Freewheeling), with multiple benefits
- Multiple braking modes for fixed wing flights (Additional Braking technologies)
- - Brake off, Ordinary brake, Proportional brake and Reverse brake.
- - In the brake mode, the brake strength can be adjusted.
- - In the proportional brake mode, brake strength is automatically assigned though the throttle rocker position.
- - In reverse brake, the remote control system is able to achieve and control forward and reverse.
